Although we are not a rescue, NACC takes on a number of kittens throughout the course of the year, from colonies we are working to TNR. We partner with some shelters and rescues from time to time for larger transports after big clinics, but we also often have kittens looking for homes locally (and extra-locally! We will consider out-of-area adoptions.)

NACC kittens:

—have been quarantined in foster care at least 2 weeks
—have been socialized to the best of our abilities
—are a minimum of 9 weeks when up for adoption
—receive their first vaccinations based on age
—kittens may not be spayed/neutered when adopted, which we know seems strange for a TNR group, but pediatric spay/neuter is hard to come by on the Shore. Kittens older than 4 months will generally be fixed before adoption; kittens younger than 4 months, we offer a low-cost spay/neuter when they’re of age, if you don’t want your own veterinarian to do the procedure.
— we ask that kittens adopted through NACC be indoor kitties unless otherwise discussed

We do not believe in lengthy applications or high adoption fees; it simply does not bear out that higher fees and more hoops equal better forever homes.

We believe in people who love cats bringing home their new family member, and in finding homes for kittens who would otherwise live out their often all-too-short lives in unfixed colonies.

We also do not require kittens to be adopted in pairs, but we will provide an assessment of what type of home situation suits a particular kitten. Some kittens are turnkey kittens: take them home and they’ll fit in anywhere. Other kittens have ideal parameters that let them live their best life: a high-energy kitten who needs a playmate, for instance, or a bonded pair.

Our application asks for what we consider basic information:

—who you are
—how to reach you
—who is your vet
—where the kitten will live
—your pet-owning experience
—confirmation of our expectations

In lieu of a formal adoption fee, we suggest a donation of at least $50 to NACC. Your generosity saves two lives: the kitten you are bringing into your home, and their momma or auntie or grandma who will be TNR’d to live out a happier, healthier life in their colony.

Available kittens can be viewed here on our website and on our Facebook page.

In limited instances we may be able to arrange a foster or home visit for kittens.
Please inquire if interested in this option.
